Hi Missy,

I had a catheter after a laparotomy and afterwards I felt as if I wasn't emptying my bladder completely and after I had finished in the bathroom a little would leak out. I wore a panty liner to help. I didn't have any other symptoms, pain or anything (I used to suffer from cystitis quite a lot so I know what that feels like) so I thought maybe it was just that my bladder got lazy or something with the catheter and it took a while to start working properly. If you have got a bladder infection I have heard that cranberry juice helps. Drinking lots of fluids helps anyway to flush it out of your system. My doctor always told me to drink barley drinks when I got cystitis. Hope this helps.

Take care, Dina

PS. Isn't it possible to just phone the doctor to get the results, surely if you had the test while you were insured you are entitled to get the results. I'm so sorry I didn't realize you needed insurance to go to the doctor.
