Hello everyone, I am a new member of this group, but not new to endometriosis. I have had this condition since I was in the 6th grade. I started having terrible periods, and it never gave up until I had my hysterectomy in 1995. For 2-3 days out of each and every month I would be in bed with severe cramps, very heavy bleeding, huge clots, hot and cold flashes, no appetite, throwing up, passing out and more. I hated my body and hated myself for having such a painful time each month when all my other friends at school went through theirs with no problems. I lived on chocolate milkshakes with protein powder that my Mom would make for me, and she would be there when I was so much in pain, and just rub my back. No amount of meds would take away the pain, and boy would I down the Tylenol! I lived this way for many years, since I did not have insurance, and was terrified to go to the doctors. I finally was able to get insurance about 7 years ago, and that is when I was able to finally get some relief from all the pain. I have been on all medical treatments, and they all had not been able to contain the endo. I had my first scope done to just clean me out. Then the next year, 1995, I had a partial hysterectomy. I then when on meds again to control it so it would not come back, but the problem was I would have severe migraines. Last year 1998, I had the right ovary and tube taken out and it was found to have endo on it. I am now starting all over again, since I have a heart condition known as Mitral Valve Prolapse, and the depo-lupron worsens the condition. Birth control pills give me severe migraines so do the mini-pills. So my last ditch try is danocrine, small dose.

I hope that I can help y'all and support y'all. I truly know what it is like to have this condition but survive it as well. I also gave up being able to conceive a child. I have never given birth, I am 37 years old. But this decision was the best I have ever made for myself.

Y'all take care, and may we all support each other!
