Hi Toni:

I hope you read this before you go to the GI doctor today. I don't think you've read my e-mails, especially the one about my friend taking the trazadone. She says she has MAJOR intestinal problems from it. Even on stool softeners she has not gone in TEN days! She has switched over to restoril (because she was taking the trazadone for its sleep inducing qualities) Even though you have had problems with bowel function before (she hasn't) the trazadone could still be aggravating the situation and making it worse.

What in the world does your GI doctor mean when he says he will see you "if you have problems?" What does he think you're having? What is HIS definition of a problem? I may have misunderstood this by the way you worded it.

As the woman on the phone said, you still need to find a surgeon IN CASE you develop obstructional problems-it is much easier if you already have a relationship with one. I would not rely on your present doctors to find you one in an emergency. It may also be beneficial for you to see a colo-rectal surgeon about your possible transverse colon problem. The gyns in Atlanta are probably not going to get too excited about that.

Yes, you are always going to have some degree of pain-probably anyway. But you can't accept the degree of pain you're having without trying to find help. And you have not really seen a lot of doctors. Keep searching. From what I've read on the forums you need to see a University associated medical practice. They are always up on the latest. They will also have a better idea of the success of the gel adhesion barriers.
