Adhesions(.......If......)-------->>>there is HOPE!!<<<

Michele, I checked out the genzyme website....BUT only Seprafilm was listed.

Michele, apparently you are very new to the Endo Forum...because most of the women on the Endo Forum recognize that I have done extensive research on adhesions, adhesion barriers, endometriosis, and related medically-related topics. My *Adhesions.....If......message* was intended to help women (and men) recognize how off-base and wrong so many doctors are in regard to the symptoms of both adhesions and endometriosis. When a woman (or a man) complains of severe chronic pain...THERE IS A REASON for the chronic pain!!!! Adhesions and Endometriosis are among the many diseases/disorders which continue to boggle the minds of researchers....BUT....Currently there are clinical trials happening throughout the United States to help researchers take whatever steps are necessary in order to perfect a gel-adhesion barrier which will meet FDA approval....possibly by Fall/Winter 1999. Surgeons in Europe and Canada are already using gel-adhesion barriers following surgical procedures.

It won't be long before adhesion-sufferers will be able to have an education and support website of their own!!! A support group for the many women (and a few men), who suffer from chronic pain caused by post-surgical adhesions and caused by the implants of endometriosis, has been organized!!! The name of this support and education group is....INTERNATIONAL ADHESIONS SOCIETY.

Dr. David Wiseman, Ph.D. has a website which he has named SYNECHION.... Greek for "adhesion." This website is a one-stop place where you can find a lot of information on adhesions and adhesion barriers. SYNECHION can be founs at: <http://members.aol.com/synechion?>

When you go to the SYNECHION website, be sure to take time to read the transcripts from Dr. Wiseman's Chats on the "Prevention of Post-Surgical Adhesions", which he hosts usually every month.

Also: Be sure to read his article, A PATIENT'S GUIDE to ADHESIONS and RELATED PAIN...or...YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

Dr. Wiseman is the person who had the vision to organize the support group, INTERNATIONAL ADHESIONS SOCIETY (IAS) for adhesion-sufferers. There will soon be an adhesions website on the Internet. Adhesion-sufferers will soon have a place on the Internet where they can share their experiences, be supported by others, learn more about adhesions, and also be among the first to hear when a gel-adhesion barrier has been approved by the FDA.

Dr. Wiseman is not a doctor...but he has all of the qualifications of a medical professional...since he has done research on adhesion barriers himself. You can't meet a nicer, more caring, compassionate person than Dr.Wiseman!!!

If any of you women are suffering with chronic pain, I am willing to share the websites I have found which are related to adhesions and endometriosis. You have my permission to e-mail me. *******THERE IS HOPE******* - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - At Fri, 26 Mar 1999, Michele wrote:
