Re: Sciatia?aFrom: Anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun Mar 14 16:40:09 1999
Hi Tina and everyone else, My chest isn't much better, I still am getting that fluttery feeling whenever I exert myself. I tried to talk to my family doctor on Thursday when I went in for my fifth Lupron shot, but she wasn't really listening to me. She said since my appointment was for a shot she didn't have a lot of time to spen with me, and asked me to book a physical for next week. Then she told me "Oh, if you have a heart attack before then, you should go to the ER." Really comforting, eh? So I have an appointment booked for two weeks from now (our doctors are on strike all next week-Canada) but I'm wodering if I should call my ob-gyn, who prescribed me the Lupron. Obviously I can't this week because of the job action, but maybe I should cancel my physical and book an appt with the ob-gyn instead. I don't know!!! Any advice? As it stands now, I'm not supposed to see the ob-gyn until mid-May after I'm done my last shot. So far I've seen her the day of the first shot, and the day of the fourth shot. Do most doctors moniter this monthly? I feel like I have no idea if I am getting good care or not. It sounds like people in the states are seeing "specialists" but I don't know if that exists here or not. I've never heard of it, but most of the endo women I've had contact with are on this list and live in the states. Is anyone on this list living in british Columbia on the lower mainland who could answer that question? I feel so frustrated about all this. Especially with the political climate here at the moment. We have a public health care system which covers most basic services (appointments, surgeries, etc) Thank goodness, because I couldn't afford any of those things. But our stupid government is cutting all social services including medicare drastically, and so everyone is ending up on waiting lists, and the doctors are angry and doing job actions, and people like us are getting blamed for "abusing the system" if we go to the doctor more than others. But if that doctor didn't answer my questions or take me seriously, shouldn't I go see another one? I feel like a hypochondriac sometimes. Okay I'm finished ranting for the moment. Thanks for the ear. By the way what did your doctor say about the heart pains at your appointment? Hugs, Anne Vancouver, BC Canada On Sun, 14 Mar 1999, TINA J TRUJILLO wrote:
