endoFrom: allan (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri Mar 12 01:44:59 1999
Hi, my name is Amy. I just started reading these posts, and have to say that I'm happy I found this site! Your messages offer me support and hope, although many make me feel sad. This endo thing is horrible, and it helps to hear that I'm not alone. I've had horrendous periods for years but never had a doc take me seriously til now. I've done the anti inflammatories without help; Tylenol 3 was the only thing that took the edge off. Things got really bad in Sept and went downhill from there... to make a long story short - had a lap and cautery of implants and scar tissue from my uterus and both ovaries, my left ovary was infested with scar tissue and it was pulling over to the uterus. This was 3 weeks ago, I developed infection in my navel and 2 of the incisions are very slowly healing, but its helped with the pain A LOT!!!! With the pain as well as emotionally. I'm very lucky to have an extremely understaning and supportive husband, mother and sisters, and friends. But, as great as they are, they still don't know what its like. Have I said yet how glad I am to have found this site?!?!? My doc now wants to do a 3 month run of Lupron, which frankly scares me to death. I've spent hours and hours reading on the net, and have learned lots from everyone's stories. Somedays I think I'm ready to try it out and think that the possible benefits would outweigh the possible negatives, but its just so frightening. One of you said something like you can always give it a try....I think that's true, not just about Lupron but also about dealing with this whole ugly endo thing! I'll keep you all in my thoughts and hope that tomorrow is a better day! Remember to be good to yourselves. Amy
