Hi! I guess my gyn thought the adhesions on the left were not clinically significant because they had been there sooo long (20 years) and not given my any pain at all during this time. Also, he wrote in the operative report that the sigmoid colon was not distorted in any way, although it was fixed in position by adhesions. This is why I think this sigmoid colon problem happened after the first lap. I can't believe he missed it, but then I'm not a surgeon so I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps feeling this way he thought that he could make matters worse than they were. He was convinced that the small intestine adhesion was causing my pain because it was almost totally obstructed and tied to the front abdominal wall. I was also completely pain free for 3 months, another reason why I think the sigmoid problem happened after the first lap. The sigmoid is the part that travels through the left pelvis from the descending colon. I especially don't like the part of the operative report that said it was adhered to itself. Sounds like a pretty sharp kink to me. Well, time will tell I guess! Chris S.
