Yenta Wrote: I have a question for you -- I've asked this in the past but perhaps you or maybe Christine would have an answer to this You mention the estrogen impersonators in dioxin -- what about the phytoestrogens? I'm aware they are supposed to be good for breast cancer etc but are the phytoestrogens ok for endometriosis? I consume much soy in "bean thread noodles (mung bean)", tofu, was considering soy milk, etc. Does consumption of these phytoestrogens exacerbate our condition?

Please excuse the delay in writing as I had not checked my email all week as I feeling unwell.

>From what I have read, phytoestrogens are ok as our body can easily break
down this type of estrogen since humans and plants have evolved together over thousands of years. The synthetic estrogens are not so easily broken down and so they hang around longer in the body. Here is a link for more information on phytoestrogens: http://www.tmc.tulane.edu/ecme/EEHome/basics/action/eevshorm/

Yenta, in reply to your second question: "So break our hearts Sharon, tell us what the weather is like in New Zealand -- do you live/work on/by the ocean? Ah Paradise...." Yes I am by the ocean, a 10 minute drive away. Most of NZ's cities and large towns are on the coast as NZ's South Island is divided down the middle by a rugged mountain range. Unfortunately, the weather here is not like that in Hawaii.
