A Major Vent-updateFrom: Christine (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri Feb 26 21:46:59 1999
Hi! Thanks for your comments. I had time to think about this at work tonight and what I could have done about it. First, I didn't mention that the appt had been rescheduled. This is the second time (in a row) that this office has done this. I schedule an appt early in the day and they call a week before the appt and say he won't be in and they reschedule it late in the afternoon. When she did this for the second time I should have refused anything but prime time. I will keep this is mind for next time. Then when she announced in the waiting room he was behind, I should have just gone to the desk to say I couldn't wait and would have to reschedule. As soon as we started talking about the bp med I could have said, now what kind of pain killer is okay to use with this because this is my problem.... The thing that really got me was that he didn't remember my past history. I find that the most unacceptable. I expect more continuity of care than that. When I called my gyn office the other day to find out what to do now that my gyn was on disability I asked her if she remembered who I was and she said of course, even though the last time she saw me was a year ago. Well, on Monday I plan to call his (pcp) nurse and tell her why I didn't ask the question about the meds at my visit and ask her to please find out for me! Thanks again. Chris S.
