Re: Advice on current doctorFrom: Melissa (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu Feb 25 07:22:16 1999
You need a doctor who specializes in endo. Your current gyn is not a partner in your health care. After any surgery they should prescribe you pain killers. There is no reason for you to be in that amount of pain. I do not live in your area, but hopefully someone on this list can help you. If not look at these websites http://www.scmc.com/endo.html <http://www.scmc.com/endo.html> and www.centerforendo.com <http://www.centerforendo.com> . -----Original Message----- From: TINA J TRUJILLO [SMTP:anonymous@obgyn.net Sent: Wednesday, February 24, 1999 7:09 PM To: Multiple recipients of list Subject: Advice on current doctor I was recently (finally ) diagnosied with endo. It took six month of sever pain before my doctor would even consider doing surgery. Finally he did and found I indeed did have endo and he guessed I have had it since I was twelve. I am now 26. Four days after the surgery the pain came back multiplied by 4 and up until then I didn't call and ask for anything for the pain. I am almost immune to pain killers so I figured it wouldn't help. Well, The fourth day after my surgery I couldn't take it any more I was throwing up, I had no control over my muscels they wer shaking uncontrollably, and My teeth were chattering as though I was standing out in the cold. Finally after two phone calls and talking to him personally he gave me vicodin. It didn't help alot but enough so I wasn't throwing up. I have been on Lupron for a little over a month now and I am getting a some relief. But I was wondering if anyone knew of a speacilist in Minnesota. I can't seem to get through to my gyn that I am not whinning, I am not accoustomed to letting pain rule my life and I need to find someone who will listen and take my concerns seriously. It is not only about the pain but the fact that when I try to discuss endo issues with him I feel as though I am being shrugged off. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Tina in MN
