Hi Donna:

I did think of this possibility after I posted. I agree that does make it a little harder (I would think) However, I was told after a hysterosalpingogram that I only had one functioning tube. I was told from the x-ray it appeared that I had a mat of adhesions over the left tube and ovary (it has since been documented by lap that I do indeed have a mass of adhesions in the left side of my pelvis, this documentation done 20 years after the hystero!) My gyn told me that pregnancy through that side was 99 % impossible from how it appeared on the x-ray. As they injected the dye they could see no dye got through the left tube, but there was free dye in the pelvis. However the right tube showed little tags of dye in it so the gyn thought that even though it was "open" it was not in great shape. This was the end of February and I conceived the first week of May. I also had very long menstrual cycles so if I remember correctly this might have been my first ovulation since the x-ray, possibly second. I believe the dye being pushed through the tubes helped and the doctor's office agreed with me. Of course I said this AFTER I became pregnant. Until that happened I was NOT very optimistic. I was scheduled for surgery in June and I basically gave up "trying" until after the surgery! Just keep working on it the next few months. Don't they do AIH (artificial insemination with husband sperm) anymore? I would think this would get around your arousal problems.

GOOD LUCK!

Chris S.
