Laparotomy/StressFrom: Amanda (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri Feb 12 19:23:06 1999
Hi Toni, I think my post might have been a bit misleading. My doctor never had to reschedule my Laparotomy. I had one Laparoscopy, was scheduled to have another but after the cyst ruptured my 2nd doctor decided to do a Laparotomy instead as the endo on my bowel, colon etc. was not removed during my laparoscopy. My surgery was actually moved up from August to June and Finally to Monday the 22nd due to the increasing severity of my symptoms. So, I'm sorry if I confused you there...I do understand the stress you're under however. Having endo combined with the knowledge of impending major surgery is enough to send me to me bed for weeks and never want to come out!! I smoked for a brief period about 3 years ago (and I smoked heavily) but I've found that since quitting, my health issues don't seem as insurmountable. I'm not trying to tell you that quitting smoking will help your endo, but, in the long run, having one less concern really lightens the "load". I wish you the best of luck with your endo and surgery. See if the doctor can't put some type of balm (Rhinaris) inside your nostrils to help cut down on the dryness/irritation from the breathing tube. I'm no medical expert but I use it all the time for dryness due to allergies and it helps!!! Take Care, Amanda
