Pain ReliefFrom: Amanda (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri Feb 12 07:39:17 1999
Hi Ladies, I'm not the Amanda who posted about exhaustion, just so you know...I wanted to make you aware (if you're not already) about what I consider to be a "miracle" pill. I've had endo for 8 years now, I've had a lap and now I'm having a Laparotomy next week. I've been on everything they could give me. 3 weeks ago I ruptured my 3rd cyst and I was in agony. They gave me Tylenol #3s (gentle on my stomach) but those were simply not sufficient. Then they added something called Tiaprofenic Acid. It's in the category of the anti-inflammatories but it's REALLY strong. You have to take it with food or it can really irritate your stomach but it takes the edge off. AND, if you happen to have aching legs or something it just relaxes those muscles, thereby allowing you to relax yourself. When taken in combination with 2 Tylenol #3 (I have severe pain), only then, have I found I'm better. I can eradicate the lesser degree of pain with just the Tia Acid. If none of you have tried it yet, or are looking for something new, maybe find out about it. It sounds so simple (like double duty Motrin) but it's been a life saver for me these few weeks until my surgery. Good luck to all, and I wish you nothing but pain free days!!! Amanda
