I'm new to the endo page, but you message stood out. I haven't yet read alot on this site about Lupron, but have posted a message requesting info from anyone who can provide any. I took Lupron injections in 1993 and had the opposite effect. I went from 190 lbs. to 150 lbs. and have remained there ever since. It's like it boosted my metabolism or something. Anyway, other side effects were a small amount of facial whiskers (appeared about a year after completion of 6 months of injections, once a month); some vaginal dryness and some joint pains. The only lasting effect has been the whiskers. I can't say for sure these were caused by the Lupron as I am now 37 and they could have developed from age I suppose. Anyway, I'm pretty ignorant of endo, even though I've had it for 25 years. I live in a very rural area of NC that is behind the world in most things and I just got hooked up to the internet a week ago and lucked into this site. I've never had children and my husband are wanting to try in the next 3 yrs. However, my husband has 2 children from his first marriage and had a vasectomy. Therefore, because of boths our problems combined my OB advises that direct removal of sperm from him and invitro procedure for me is our best bet for the money. However, that will cost from $8,000 - $10,000 my OB estimates. We're not financially capable of that yet, so I decided to research Endo and this suggested procedure in the meantime on the internet.

Anyway, I'm glad I found this site. It's opened my eyes to a lot of new info. And I really feel like I have someone (alot of someones) to empathize with now as well as receive some valuable and much needed education on the disease. Thanks to all of you for your input and open hearts and minds.
