Re: Therma-Choice Uterine Balloon TherapyFrom: Onagh (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat Jan 30 21:46:40 1999
I've gone to 3 docs about this procedure, all of them said it will not help the Endo or the Adeno. I finally went to a Reproductive Endocrinologist, who specializes in Endo/Adeno, and he agreed. If anyone with Endo/Adeno has had this done, I would hope they would post here to share their experience. All the docs told me the procedure is only for women who bleed continuously. Has anyone ever heard of Therma-Choice Uterine Balloon Therapy? Those of you with Adeno might find relief with this procedure!!! A catheter and balloon are inserted through your cervix to the uterus. The balloon is inflated with a liquid, which is then heated. The lining of the uterus is "burned". Periods are said to get lighter, and some women even stop having periods altogether. This procedure should NOT be performed on women who would like to get pregnant. I have heard of someone who had a significant improvement with her bleeding after this procedure! Just thought I'd throw this info out there for everyone to know! L-Kelley
