Urine Therapy

Carole: I didn't mean my message to sound like I was discounting your treatment. It's just that I have always counted on Melissa to give a scientific point of view--I like the balance she brings to discussions of treatment options. Perhaps "claim" is a loaded word--I don't think that most drugs now used to treat endo are well proven. To me they are all "claims". I don't think that urine therapy is any less valid than any other treatment option; it is probably much safer than many drugs currently prescribed for our condition. Please believe me when I say that I am truly glad that it is working for you and anyone else with the courage to try it. Notice I say courage--I don't believe it takes a desparate person to try something like this. It takes someone who is willing to go beyond the bounds of traditional Western medicine and try some less widely accepted treatments. I commend you for that. Some treatments are right for some but not for others--I use accupuncture and a variety of wierd and sometimes yucky herbs to treat my endo. It works for me, but certainly isn't for everyone. I also want you to know that I truly appreciate the information you provided, and I admire you for conducting such thourough research into this treatment option. I apologize to you for the misunderstanding--it is only through open exchange of ideas such as this that we may be able to find an endo cure, or at the very least some releif.

Best-- Chelsey in Denver

(PS: I was discussing Urine Therapy with some friends after dinner last night. One of them said that for generations his family has used mother's urine to treat infant acne. I'll look forward to hearing from others familiar with this treatment.)
