Re: Are adhesions only caused by endo? From: Melissa (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu Jan 28 13:31:06 1999
If you can find the cause of adhesions you would win the nobel prize. Kind of like endo, the cause of adhesions are a mystery. Someone explained to me that the reason adhesions develop in people with endo is that the implants secrete chemicals and hormones and damage the surrounding tissue. Your body tries to stop the damage by covering the implants with adhesions. I think adhesion pain is described as a feeling of pulling or tearing. I really couldn't tell you, because I don't have them. I hope this helps. Melissa - I was wondering - what is the exact cause of adhesions - what are they and how does their pain/symptoms differ from straight endo pain? I would like to discuss same with my RE tomorrow - maybe I have endo and adhesions- some of the ladies here are describing things that I too have - the type of pain and bowel problems - and I would like to be able to ask some intelligent questions about this - please respond when you have time. Thanks. Angel
