A Little Bit of Sunshine!! ;o)From: anonymous@obgyn.netFri Jan 22 14:56:33 1999
Hello everyone! My name is Tina for those of you who dont know , and I am 15. I have heard your posts lately and Ive been going through a really tough time right now also with Lupron , but have also kept myself happy. I had an idea to have a little continual subject called , "A Little Bit of Sunshine." This could be a subject where we just write happy things and little things about ourselves , to get to know more than just Endometriosis. I think we all need a little bit of cheer along with this forum , so I will tell what happened to me last night that made me very excited..... Well , as Ive said before , I had to stop doing ballet this summer because of the endo.... which was really upsetting because I was aiming towards being professional and had already passed my professional exam infront of the National Council last year. But , this huge really great Ice Complex just opened near me and it has really great coaches for figure skating. Figure skating was always something I loved to watch , but at age 15 , I thought it was too late to be any good. Well , I convinced myself to sign up for lessons and they put me in the adult class. I loved it instantly , I was very nervous because I had never been on ice before , but when I got out there I was so focused and had such a clear mind that I did great. Ive been going for about one month.... anyways , last night , at my lesson , I was nervous about getting back on the ice after my surgery. My instructor , one of the main coaches found out that I did ballet , so jokingly she was like , ok , now show us some ballet on the ice. So , I took up her challenge and skated around doing all these ballet movements and arms , then I did this spin and ended in a pose. I am just in the beginner:Learn how to skate program now , so she was pretty shocked. She said that she wanted to get me into competition! And that she was passing me with honors , and she was passing no one else in my class. Anyways , this is one of my dreams unraveling ....so this is my little bit of sunshine for the week! What I want to say in response to some of the posts Ive read lately is this.... Never give up on any of your dreams. Endometriosis is a very painful disease , but were alive. Thats enough reason to be happy. Remember this saying: "Always keep your face towards the sun and let the shadows fall behind you." Love Tina , I hope you dont all think this is a dumb idea , but I think we all need a little cheering up!
