Toni:

I know that losing a parent is soooo extremely hard (the anniverasry of the death of my dad is days away). He fought leukemia for years and was doing good at it. Then sneezed and thought he pulled a back muscle - turned out to be a bone cancer he broke loose and it took him in no time. I know that the mind plays these cruel games by flashing back to the good times and then the end - it isn't fair. But, you are taking control of your life and you know what symptons she had, so you can feel fairly comfortable that it isn't going to happen the same to you.

Try and remember that because battling the adhesion pain and then the mental pain with it - has to compound the situtation (At least it does for me - when I hurt and then about the last time I saw by dad as I was leaving to get on a plane to come home and start a new job, then not only does my pelvic pain get worse but now my whole body aches from grieving.)

I can't just offer a solution, but only my experiences (my mom had a second heart attach just after I left and wouldn't go to the hospital because she didn't have any way to get there) deal with one issue at a time. Relaxing is the only thing that helps me that is why I just joined the gym so I can go relax in the hot tub and saunas. Find something you enjoy doing and when you notice your thoughts drifting where you don't want them to go - pick up the hobby and get your mind busy.

Good luck, Linda Reno, NV >
