I had to throw my $.02 in here: as a fellow smoker, I too laughingly tell folks it's "for medicinal purposes"...smoking lowers estrogen levels, calms my fraught nerves and attempts at quitting again give me something else to focus on rather than my pain! (Of course, all us smokers know the dangers involved; no need to start any anti-smoking campaigns.) =)
