Re: Second Opinion?From: anonymous@obgyn.netThu Dec 31 16:06:25 1998
Kellie, If the doc wants you to do Lupron is he talking a 6 month course and then what next? I am a school counselor and I have dealt with endo for 10 years now. I refused Lupron several years ago as I had a past 6 month treatment with Danazol and didn't want to experience the potential side effects of Lupron (the Danazol was miserable)! Has he talked about birth control pills? Will your insurance cover Lupron? I know at one point mine would not -- another reason for my not taking it! I was 21 when diagnosed with endo and engaged to be married. We have survived 10 years of the ups and downs of endo ( 4 surgeries) and 2 precious children. Yes my periods are miserable and I threaten to give myself a home hysterectomy when they are really bad! My endo always quiets down after a surgery or a birth of a child and returns again with a vengance. Through it all I think I have become very strong and my marriage is strong too! It makes you appreciate what you do have and enjoy the pain free times of the month so much more! I have reached that point where the endo is miserable and the doc says no more surgeries (as the last one didn't help much). I am hoping to hang on 6 months or so and then may go ahead and have the hysterectomy. Right now I go day by day and enjoy what a good life I really do have. Lisa
