Re: [Weight Changes Due to Endo]From: Lady (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed Dec 30 14:24:52 1998
I have had Endo for many years, however the past 6 years were the worst. The pain kept getting stronger and I began to gain weight. I am 4' 11" and I was at a comfortable weight of 105 lbs., then I went to 120-125 and I was still OK with that. Then all of a sudden in the last 4-5 years I went from that comfortable weight to 206 lbs. I felt like I had betrayed myself by letting myself get that big. My doctor sent me to a specialist who put me on a very good diet, but still, in one week I gained 6 lbs. and I had followed it religiously. Like others said, I too do not eat meat other than chicken (I just don't like it) and I can't eat many sweets due to sensative teeth. I didn't understand. I tried so hard to at least not gain anymore. I am 5 weeks post-op from having a hyst/bso and I am feeling so good. I am on HRT and I am wondering how this surgery is going to effect my weight. I am hoping to lose, but wonder if I will start gaining more. Does anyone know the answer to this question? Robin
