Re: Adam Masters Syndrome???From: anonymous@obgyn.netThu Dec 17 01:55:47 1998
yes. "They" have found that chronic pain, depression and addiction "run" on the same neural pathways. the 'nerve fibers' he refers to are the same nerves that recieve the (same) neurotransmitters ... responsible for emotional well being, pain, perception etc. endorphines, serotonin, dopamime and so on. the right antidepressent can enhance the bodies natural abitlity to reduce physical pain. neurotransmitters are the harmones of the brain. the drug............. (anitdepressent) .... carries syntheitc neurotransmitters like serotonin etc., and they then bind to the neurotransmitters in the brain to enhance the function of things like endorhpines..... I hope this helps. i hope that i am not telling you something you already know...i am just trying to help... I certainly think that antidepressents are a good tool to help in healing and dealing with physicl pain... i take one and it has helped me. however i do recommend that you exercise as much as you can tollerate..even if its juts 10 mins. a day. if i can help you with anythig else please let me know. - sincerely - kara
