Re: [My horrible experience]From: Lady (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu Dec 3 08:35:54 1998
Dorothy, How dare she do any of that to you. Not to defend her, but I have heard that a lap is the only way to "Know For Sure". Still she should have not treated you that way. I have has many doctors like that in my time of battling endo. As far as telling you that you are too young, I have had pain ever since I was 12 and right now I am only 1 month past my 25 birthday and I am less that 2weeks post-op from a hysterectomy/oopherectomy. I did go to this big time specialist 2 months before my surgery for a second opinion and she treated me pretty bad too. She shook my hand and could tell everything about me. She never examined me or anything. Then blamed all my pain on what I ate and my weight. I have gained 75 lbs. in the past 4 years and my doctors believe it is a medical problem, but she didn't want to hear anything different than her "Correct Solution"! Then she told me I needed to try a million things (most of them I had already tried and had she payed attention she would have known it). Ok, I have babbled on enough. Don't let her get you down. I never go to my doctor alone, my Mother-in-law or husband always attend my appointments with me. Bad doctors are everywhere. When you find one that is sensitive to your feelings and makes you comfortable, stick with them. The "Know It All Best Of The Best" are almost always stuck on them selfs. I wish you better luck in the future. Robin
