Dear Kelley, I'm 45 and had endo for many many years before it was diagnosed, and it is Stage III-IV, because there were so many adhesions too the doctor couldn't exactly classify it. I don't think you should ever lose hope of having children. There needs to be a lot more research, but there are some doctors who have done great things. Also, you should not lose hope about adopting, in vitro, etc. Personally, because my symptoms were "in my head" according to former doctors (I was diagnosed only this year), I learned to avoid foods that aggravated it. Some foods have estrogen added, such as meat not raised organically, and even any meat, because it does have animal hormones. Some people talk about the natural therapies as though they replace the medical ones. I don't think so, but avoidance of things containing estrogen can help a lot. Also, I avoid coffee in any form. For some reason, even decaffeinated starts colon and back spasms that won't let me stand up straight for about 2 weeks. To me, where there is pain, something is going wrong. My sister was told to avoid coffee for breast cysts, so, coffee might aggravate cysts in other places too. I hope you learn a lot here. You might also want to join The Endometriosis Association. Elizabeth
