The only thing I heard is that it helps your fat cells to produce estrogen naturally after menopause, because a little estrogen is produced by the fat cells, which is why some pre-adolescents gain a bit of weight just before puberty. It depends on the person whether or not they want this "add-back" of estrogen. Elizabeth
