Dear Robin: When a person is having unusual sleeping patterns there is usually a stress trigger. I have insomnia anyway so I really can't relate myself, But I just went through this with my husband. They cut out overtime at his job for a while and he got to where he could only sleep 3-4 hours at the time. I talked to my herbologist about this and she suggested for him to take something with a valerian root derivative in it. As soon as he got the overtime back, he got his sleep back. Good luck on the surgery and many sleep filled nights to you.
