Dear Cherrie: Sounds like your Doctor did a bang up job on you{hope this isn't considered flaming :-), I think I would check into a malpractice suit. Unfortunately for us Doctors don't have to do their jobs perfectly, Just to the best of their ability. I know this because I am taking Medical Office Assistant classes. Sometimes the best of their ability causes us to suffer unnecessary pains and disabilities. Ladies for the sake of our own health we have to check into our Dr.'s backgrounds and make sure that the person wielding the knife is a true Dr. and not a butcher. I wish I had that knowledge before I went through three surgeries not even knowing I had endo. All I was told was I had adhesions and hemorrhagic cysts. My insurance company told me I had endo not my Dr.. I trusted my Dr. for almost ten years, my entire family went to him because he was so nice and accepted most forms of payment. He is so popular that the wait to see him is 2-3 hours. Half the city I live in are his patients and half of the Doctors are his friends. I really trusted him and now I feel betrayed because rather than going through these procedures and letting me swallow one fertility pill after another, not knowing I was born with all the eggs I'm ever going to have and not knowing that every time he opened me up to work on my ovaries and tubes to remove all of the adhesions he decreased my chances of pregnancy even more, I feel as though he should have or Could have looked past my desire to become pregnant, looked past what I wanted and done what was best for me as his patient. So I guess the moral to the story is, write down any questions and concerns you may have, get clear informed answers, and make sure your Doctor's success rate is high. There are means to finding that information. If you have to take the long road to get where you are going so be it. It would be better to take a longer trip than to take a disaster ridden shortcut. I wish I had. As for SSI, you should also check into a lawyer that specializes in disability. It could pay off for you. I wish you luck in getting well.
