Many thanks to those who have sent me their stories so far...

We have 69 women who have volunteered to share their stories. I used to feel like I was the only person on the planet dealing with my Stage IV endo and 7 years of infertility, but now I see that my story is just the tip of the iceberg. The horror stories that I have read, have made me furious. There are people in the medical community who should be shot for the way they are dealing with (or not dealing with this diease).

I am outraged that when I read about women in the ER being told to go home because they are just having cramps, when an HMO would not refer someone to see a gyn, one of the worst was someone who has had well over 30 surgeries! This is absolutely crazy! There is no reason that we should be treated like second class citizens or guinea pigs.

I am abosolutely livid that the media ignores this disease because it in not fashionable, or trendy, or something that they feel is newsworthy or has human interest. I know that breast cancer was a diease that no one talked about 20 years ago and look now how public awareness has changed the lives for many women who have been stricken with that disease. The survivial rate has jumped by leaps and bounds, simply because women are aware and understand the importance of early detection.

Just think if women who are just starting to have symptoms of endo were educated, and had educated medical professionals to treat them, what a difference that would make for their quality of life. We don't have a cure yet, but early detection of the disease could make such a difference for many women.

Anyway I just wanted to let everybody know that I am still collecting letters, and I will continue to do so until we get a ton of people! I know that sometimes it seems like we are fighting a brick wall, but our voices will be so much stronger if we can produce large numbers of women to share their stories. I have felt so powerless over this disease in the past and this is one way I feel I can do something proactive to bring about change.

Thanks in advance to those who are willing to join in.... We can make a difference! Chris
