Reply to: RE: Shari's surgery HI EVERYONE!!!!! Melissa, Robin, Laurie and everyone who has called and expressed well wishes and concern, THANK YOU so much! It's so great to have thew support from all of you. I Did NOT have the surgery. I did not NEED the surgery!!! I was rushed to the hospital in enormous pain a little over two weeks ago. They took me off of food, hooked me up to an IV, had me drink this flurocarbon (I think) stuff for a CAT Scan and check this out...THE PAIN WENT AWAY!!! THE PAIN WENT AWAY!!! THE PAIN WENT AWAY!!! The DAY before my surgery was to have taken place I spoke with the doctor and DEMANDED to know why after 10 years of "BS" & PAIN & DRUGS & SURGERIES & DOCTORS, etc...that LITERALLY overnight the pain DISAPPEARED!!! The only way he could ecplain it (which makes alot of sense to me now) was that I had endo/adhesions in my digestive system. The fact that I had stopped eating food when they admitted me stopped the affected area from getting inflamed, the fact that they had hydrated me with IV CLEANSED the area, and the flurocarbon stuff they had me drink for the CAT Scan COATED the area...LEAVING ME COMPLETELY PAIN FREE FOR THE FIRST TIME IN SOOOOOOOOO LONG!!! They did some more tests confirming that what was happening with my digestive system was parallelled with what I was feeling and by the grace of G-d it WAS!!! I was released from the hospital PAIN FREE!!! My biggest problem now, upon being released from the hospital was that I was COMPLETELY physically dependant on pain medication (INJECTABLE DEMEROL)!!! Sisters, I don't want to preach and I don't want to sound like a traitor. I learned that the narcotics were POISONING me and as G-d is my witness, making the pain from Endo/adhesions WORSE! Two weeks later (the two weeks of getting off of the pain medication was a hell that I would not wish upon my worst enemy and something that I will have to contend with, be conscious of and battle for the rest of my life) I am COMPLETELY PAIN-FREE and COMPLETELY DRUG-FREE. I d idn't think I would EVER be able to say that. I h going to do with it! I just came in to work today to visit (Lord help the Quick Mail server of my former employer...I had 760 emails!!!). I'll be meeting with my former employer in about a half-hour to see if there is anything we can arrange for a temporary, mutually-beneficial, employment arrangement for the time being. I promise to keep you all posted. Thank you all for the love and support from the day I signed on to this wonderful place. I have been thinking and praying for you all. I promise to be back in touch soon. All My Love, Sisters, XOXO Shari
