Re: head achesFrom: Debra (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon Aug 31 19:14:00 1998
Hi spidee-- I, too, suffer from nightly headaches and/or migraines. I take propacet every night, however, I have been told that 250-500 mg of aspirin a day has been proven beneficial to aide in the prevention of migraines, as it is a blood thinner. I, however, have unusually thin blood, and therefore take the propacet for temp relief. I am having a hard time finding a doctor who takes my pain seriously. I had been told that the headaches may be because of constricted blood vessels, possibly caused by smoking while taking birth control pills. However, now that I am doing neither, the headaches have returned. I can understand your frustration. As for the hair, according to my mother (a cosmotologist), the weight of long hair can increase the pain of an already existing headache, but unless you have extremely long and extremely thick hair, it is unlikely that it weighs enough to cause headaches. If the former is the case, then maybe cutting your hair would be a good idea. You be the judge of your hair's weight. I know that this wasn't much help, but maybe you will find some temporary relief until you can get to the doctor (and I would definitely get to the doctor quickly, since these headaches are too frequent!). Good luck! Deb
