accupuncture - READ CAPITALS ESPECIALLY

If you don't have the time to read all of this, I do suggest that you read the text in capital letters.

I was really sceptical about acupuncture, and it was the same for me - needles equalled pain. I used to REALLY hate injections (I'm a bit better with them now), I got really hot flushes and passed out frequently when I had them just from the pure fear I had from them. My husband had acupuncture done when he was a bit stressed from work and someone also said that it may increase his low sperm count. After his first session, he couldn't stop raving about it and strongly urged me to go - which is a bit unusual for him to be so adamant about something like that - so I went (still nervy about needles) I can only say that I came out of there feeling re-energised and felt really cleansed, no heaviness or grogginess - I really did feel great. I thought it was all a load of toss too before I went in and I knew that the body had electricity running around in it, but was really doubtful that tapping into that could make me feel better, but only when I had a needle in my skin and I could feel a little buzzing in the area, did I realise that it was helping to release energy blockages in my body. I really do advocate it, and although I haven't been for a while, I have an appointment booked for Thursday evening. I haven't seen her since being diagnosed with endo in late June.

Another interesting thing, my acupuncturist says THAT EVERYTIME SHE HAS COME ACROSS A WOMAN WITH ENDO SHE HAS BEEN ABLE TO CLEAR IT UP QUITE SUCESSFULLY, IT'S NOT SOMETHING THAT WESTERN MEDICINE IS REALLY GOOD FOR AND SHE HASN'T HAD ONE CASE WHERE SHE HASN'T BEEN ABLE TO LESSEN IT DRAMATICALLY OR GET RID OF IT COMPLETELY. I SAID TO HER THAT THAT WAS QUITE A CLAIM TO BE MAKING AND SHE SAID THAT SHE HAS BEEN DOING IT FOR ABOUT 15 YEARS AND SHE HAS SEEN A LOT OF PEOPLE WITH ALL DIFFERENT COMPLAINTS BUT ENDO IS ONE OF THE THINGS IT WORKS EXCEPTIONALLY WELL ON. I don't want to be placing a miracle cure post to any of you, but if she is so confident, it has to be worth a try. I have seen her quite a few times and really don't think that she would just say this for me to keep going back to her.

If you have any questions you would like me to ask her, post them to me by Thursday morning and I would be happy to ask her for you in the evening and then mail back the answers.

Hope you are all having a pain free day. Smiles and hugs from Down Under,

Emma

Melissa:

What is the purpose of sticking needles in one's body to relieve pain? I guess I'm just having difficulty separating the two. For me, needles in skin = pain. Are these needles so fine, that when inserted, you don't feel it?

Acupuncture has been clinically proven to relieve pain. It is not painful at all. If you have tried everything else, it might be worth a shot.

Dana:

Not me! It looks painful. If anyone can convince me that it's not,

I'll give it try because I've met a lot of people that think it's the greatest thing since pockets. However, the idea of having someone stick tiny little pins in me is somewhat unsettling.
