HI My name is Noeleen and I just joined the list yesterday, already I have rec'd lots of information from you all. I have had endo for about 5 years now and it is getting progressively worse. I have two young boys, so getting pregnant didn't diminish the endo, in fact it has gotten worse in the past 3 years after the birth of my second son.

I have just moved to Portland OR and I need to find a doctor out here. Does anyone know a good doctor in the Portland area? Any information on this or support groups in the area would be great.

thanks

Hi everyone For those of you with IBS I have an article written by Dean Sharpe who works with Dr Redwine if you have heard of him. I got the article from the Endometriosis Research Centre. When I joined up on the internet they asked what articles you are interested in so I asked for all the info they had on the Bowel and endo. Here is an excert regarding IBS. "irritating bowel syndrome" is common in endo sufferers This supports the concept held by many the IBS is common in endo patients. We agree, But not because Endo patients are "highly strung" or " just crazy" but because Endo is an irritationg focus which causes bowel symptoms. (constipation, diarrhea, cramping, pelvic pain, painfull sex and rectal pain)

When I read this I wondered if we do have IBS or whether the Endo just causing the same debilitating symptoms, in which case should we call it IBS. >From what I read IBS can only be helped by a change of diet where as for
those of us that do have endo of the bowel (myself included, I'm booked in for a bowel resection) need to realise that the only treatment is to get rid of it by surgical or other means. Just food for tjought because I know that some doctors may brush you off with the IBS theory whereas I feel it is important that they don't. These are only personal thoughts and as always I would recommend you all research it for yourself. Take care everyone Jude
