<< I am very scared of the results it may show on me in the future and to my baby. It does aggrevate (sp?) me very much to know, for as long as Lupron has been around, why they aren't letting us know the long term effects of it. They do have it, my mothers best friend (and close to me too) was on Lupron over 8 years ago. 8 years ago!! There has to be "Lupron Babies" walking around.

Anyways, I will probably NOT do the Follistim injections, after I found out how much it will cost me, I can't afford it. Plus my HUGE fear of needles!! Now, I'm just finishing the BCP's they gave me to take for 7 days to see if I have a period. I don't really want to continue the last 4 though because since I started I have been more achier, can't sleep through the night (toss & turn all night) and have had "imaginary cramps" that are almost as bad as my periods use to be. I probably should stop them and try one of those natural progesterone creams and just wait a few months to see if I get my cycle on my own a few times then begin again. I'm just worried about the endo coming back before my chance is up.

I also have another feeling there is something they hide from us on Lupron, because I have heard from so many people plus my dr. and my friends dr. who is currently on Lupron - dr's telling people that after the Lupron, you're greatest chance of getting pregnant are within a year, after that, your chances decline to almost nothing. Is this because the Lupron, or anyone with endo??

Well, you can tell I am confused and I do know my options, but, I think a lot of times my wanting of a baby (or multiple is ok too)is over powering my "Educated" answers. >>

Julie- I am a prime example of someone having a "Lupron" baby. I just had my daughter 7 weeks ago, & I got pregnant 2 months after going off of Lupron. Who knows if I would have been able to get pregnant if I hadn't taken the Lupron the 2nd time around. My doctor had speculated that I would have a difficult time getting pregnant, and only was willing to give me 6 months to try, before resorting to IVF. My doctors is one of those doctors who is convinced pregnancy helps cure endo. I cannot say Lupron helped with my period pain, because I never had "real" periods after having surgery in December of 1994. I was always on something to suppress them. I just got my first "real" period today after giving birth, and yes the cramps and diarrhea are still there, but not as intense as they were years ago. I am currently on no meds (my choice), even though I think I had the period from hell bleeding wise.

As for side effects, I still suffer from memory loss from the Lupron, loss of libido, loss of vaginal lubrication, osteoporosis, joint pain, mood swings, depression, etc. What one drug can do for some may react differently in others. Whether the Lupron helped me or not, I'm not sure I would ever take it again because mentally it made me feel like a whole different person. I think it was my surgery that helped me the most, and then having my doctor suppress my periods right after the surgery also helped.

Just thought I'd pass this info on to you.
