anonymous@obgyn.net wrote: Well, it was a bad time! My surgery was over 2 1/2 hours.....After it was over, doctor told my husband, the endo was involing the uterine artey, so bad, it was causing the artery to be exposed and swollen. He could not remove endo form it ,because if it was nicked in any way , I could bleed very badly being it was an artery..... There was fresh endo on the right ovary, culdsesac area uterus, filmy adhesions on left and right side. I had every color endo that could be.....At least my doctor knows endo can be all different colors!Saw the pictures myself.... I arrived at hopital at 6 am......surgery started at 7:45am...... I was a wreck until they put me out! I was treated with great care and understanding, so it helped alot. Anesthesiologist was wonderful, he gave me some wonderful "cocktails".,and off to dream land i went! My gyn told me he would never do a hernia and endo surgery again together......(thanks for telling me afterwards!)I got out of surgery at 10:30amI had some complications, my bloodpressure was real low after surgery so they kept me in recovery for 4 hours. they would not allow my husband to be with me at all.the pain was unbeleiveable!I got the pain meds every 30 mins through the IV, it just wasnt lasting. After the recovery room allowed me to go to the step down recovery room, I got 2 perocert to help ease the pain. I went to bathroom to 'pee" 2x,but not alot was coming out. The sutures were bleeding too. I have 5 punctue wounds.....No one (nurses) seemed that concerned. They just put some more gauze over the sites.... No one even seemed too concerned about my peeing not much urine either! They released me, at 4pm, and told me to go home and "rest". At 7 pm, I was having spasms, that seemed not right! I couldnt pee at all, and my bladder ,felt like it was going to bust!So my husband called the doctor,to make him aware..... He told him to take me back to hospital(ER) , so they could put a foley catheter in! I was so upset, tried and in so much pain.....(why do hosptals not keep surgical pts! It is so wrong to release anyone who has any kind of surgery!) so now we get to hospital, and they put that horrible foley cath in..... I saw stars hit me when the doctor placed that in the utherer. OH MY ! did that hurt ! On top of all the other pain! But it finaly helped my bladder stop having spasms...... The medical resident was going to admit me at (now it was 11:00pm) but she talked with my gyn, who felt I could go home with the foley and i would be Ok until the morning when I would have to see him in his office. My husband now had to take another day off from work, to take me to the doctor in am. Doctor removed the foley in his office at about 11;30 am, and it hurt just as much taking it out!He gave me an antibotic to take ,just in case I would have any urniary infection. (good thinking!) Went home and slept all day , at 5pm my doctor did call me to see if I peed! He gets a few points for being conerned!( he really was!)I finally peed on my own at 6pm yesterday..... Today I feel so much better. I havent even taken any pain pills. Just 2 toradols, seem to be enough today. My tummy looks like a tuck hit me about 10 times!!!!I dread when doc removes the sutrues on tues.....I didnt have sutures in all the punctures wounds last time, just in the belly button. When I saw my doc thurs (yesterday), when he removed the foley, he told me my options on what was ahead for me.....He told me, if I did nothing, more surgery, would definatley be in my future. Or I could try lupron again, or have a hsyterecomy to end this . His biggest concern with me, was the utrine artey being more involve at this lap....I would only consider the hyst, with him leaving in my good ovary , which would be the left one...... He beleives in taking everything out! But he would listen to my conerns and leave me my ovary so i could make my natural hormones. And if needed futher down the "road' I could always remove the left ovary via laparoscopy. I know alot of you have removed both ovaries removed and alot of you have kept at least one. I guess that is a decsion that can be made by the me.But I would like to hear from all of you what your thoughts are on all of this that I have written.....Sorry for the long story.I really couldnt make it any shorter!(LOL) Hope all of you have been well
