Tami, I too take Ultram. I have been taking it for about three months. I stopped taking it because it seemed to do nothing for my pain and I have read several articles, as well as reading on the net, about it being addictive. I have also read several articles that claim it should only be used for mild pain and only for short periods of time. I was told to take one pill every four hours (50mg). I was doing this religiously for almost three months before I decided the side effects were not worth the end result. I too itched like crazy and experienced forgetfulness, irritability, added constapation and several other nasty side effects...my eyelids would bloat up and I would break out in what seemed to be a rash, but my ob/gyn said she thought it had nothing to do with the ultram. Funny though, it went away when I stopped taking the Ultram. And my pain level is the same as it was the whole time I was pumping that nasty stuff into my body. It also made me feel absolutely run down. I think I made the right decision for myself to stop taking it, but that may not be the right thing for you to do. I just wanted you to know there is someone who can relate. It's NOT in your head. Peace, Di
