any insurer may consider endo a "pre-existing condition" and exclude coverage for related items for a time period. this may be subject to state laws, however. I was insured for disability and excluded for 2 years for anything to do with the uterus. my brother is the agent and he got my restriction lifted after 1 year. good thing -- I had surgery last year and drew a very nice disability while recovering from the hysterectomy. i knew how to write it up and did the work for my doctor to sign. also, my HMO did not want to cover the surgery. I told the resident how to write it up and we got everything (only a $10 per day for the private room) covered.

i am a reimbursement consultant. you have to fight and know how to justify medical necessity to get it covered. if you can tell them that an alternative therapy will reduce utilization of more expensive treatments, then they buy that argument,. Glenda
