almost at the end of my ropeFrom: tinka (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon Jul 20 15:45:34 2009
I was recently diagnosed with endo, although I knew I had it years before. Since I was a teenager I have had very painful periods. I have taken various medications to help with the pain. Over the years I have gone from 3-4 days of cramping to about 3 weeks every month. I get cramps in my pelvis and into my thighs and sometimes in my calves. Both of my sisters have endo and at first my Dr did not want to do anything. She just gave me stronger medication. After no relief I asked again, the Gyno I saw told me it was normal to wake up crying due to the pain and it was normal to cramp for 3 weeks in a month. Defeated I dealt with it for a few more months. When my husband and I had been trying to get pregnant for a year, my GP referred me to a fertility specialist. That is when I had a lap and was diagnosed that I do indeed have endo. The surgery did nothing for my pain nothing for the heavy heavy periods. I am to start IUI in a few days....if I get my period. For the last 3-4 years I have seriously been thinking about a hysterectomy.....but I want children. I hate that I have so much pain every month. I am scared that I ha nd that I am going to face a lot of emotions and waste a lot of money on fertility treatment.
