Sometimes endo goes on your uterosacral ligaments (or can obliterate
your culdesac area) and this can then press on nerves and lead to
sciatic pain.
Endo in these places can lead to pain by your buttocks, down your leg.
The only way to get rid of it is to have the endo excised. However, you
might want to ask your doctor about muscle relaxants, sometimes these
can help.
Lupron is a really strong drug. It can have severe side effects, like
hot flashes, loss of bone density, etc. It can also shrink your endo
implants. So, if you have a lot of endo on your uterosacral ligaments
and/or your cul de sac, the Lupron would shrink that and you would
experience a relief of pain for however many months you were on the
hormone. Once you are off the hormone, the pain would return. Has your
neurologist said anything about taking Lyrica or Neurontin? Maybe these
drugs would help.
