Fist the hospital told me I could apply for finacial aid, I did this. It
takes 4-6 months for it to process. I called a few times to see what
was happeining and they told me just to keep waiting till I got a letter
saying yes or no. It had been 6 months and I got no letter so I called
again, they tell me that they sent me a letter saying I needed to send
them a letter of support form the person I live with. I never got that
letter, so I sent it. I called to see what was happening again and they
said now it would be another 4-6 months since they now have everything
they needed to process it. Then I get a letter in the mail saying that
my bill was sent to collections, I call to find out why they did that
since I am still being processed and they said not to worry with their
hospital it doesn't go on my credit. And they told me to keep waiting
for an approval/denial letter. Then I get a letter from a lawyer who
says they are now collecting for the bill. I call the hospital again
and they say to call the lawyer and tell then I am still being processed
and that should take care of it. The lawyer says that the hospital
hired them to collect from me and they cannot stop unless the hospital
calls them and tells them to stop. So, I call the hospital, they say
they won't call them to get them to stop. I have to start paying this
lawyer or could be taken to court. So, what happens if I get approved
and have sent this money I didn't end up owing? Plus you can litigate a
bill that is still under process. It's complete BS. I am applying for
financial aid because I have no money to pay, so how do they think I am
going to pay this lawyer the money? Plus the lawyer is putting interest
towards the bill making it even higher than before. I am sick, getting
surgery again, and I don't make alot of money I mean less than $100 a
month. So, that is why I will never go to the CEC again because of that
hospital and all the shit they are pulling. I do want to stress again
that this is NOT the CEC's fault. But, it's more than I can go through
again. The hospital got most of it's money from my insurance, but I get
that through my mom still so I don't pay for it, so her income is not my
income at all. I am not shaking my fist at the hospital. I am so mad
and stressed about all of it. But, the nurses at the hospital were all
really nice to me. It's just the idiots at the business office. Damn
them to hell.
Also, what is the average weight you lose after surgery like 5-10 pounds
maybe? I am trying to gain a bit so what I lose doesn't put more
underweight.
