''Elisabeth Hasselbeck’s doctor, Dr. Peter Green, was on the show to talk about Celiac disease, which Elisabeth suffers from. The disease is an auto-immune disorder which causes an inflammation of the intestine when the person ingests products containing wheat and gluten. If left untreated, the disease can lead to serious problems like cancer, infertility, and miscarriages. Dr. Green said that Celiac Disease is a life-long diagnosis and that you have to learn to live with it for the rest of your life. He said that although the cause of the disease is not known, it is believe to be a combination of genes, gluten, and environmental factors.

If you believe you may have Celiac Disease, you can visit The National Foundation For Celiac Awareness and print out a checklist of symptoms which you can share with your doctor. Guest host Susie Essman said that she has a lot of the symptoms and that her mother has Celiac Disease. Dr. Green said that she should definitely be tested for it and that if you have the gene for it, that means that you can develop it. Your doctor will also do an antibody test to determine if you currently have the disease.''

take this test and then take the results to your doctor - mine had no problem writing the script for the test a long time ago, why would any doctor?
