Re: Endo and Celiac disease - a link?

I've read that IBS is a bunch of symptoms thrown together, and given a name - your mother may very well have celiac disease which causes the bowels to be irritable.

I had IBS, but my endo surgery stopped that. I would eat certain things and have all kinds of problems, but the excision helped it. I can now even drink coffee and eat some thing that I couldn't before. of course, I am giving it up again because of the endo diet, but I no longer have the irritable bowels from that.

yeast can also be a problem for IBS symptoms, yeastconnection.com

chocolate can irritate the bowels...

oh and guess what! the pain killers we take can get to us, too

probiotics and digestive enzymes help me a lot, too

even if the antibodies don't show up on tests, trying a gluten-free / wheat-free diet helps many people...

elizabeth hasselbeck just wrote a book on her experiences, and many people are trying that diet for better health in general

this doctor talks about these things in his book, and on his radio show frequently
