I was just like you are at first very scared. I was 20 yr old when I had mine and very scared of what they would find, but it turn out not to be as bad as I thought. The pre op I was just very nervous, the doc explain what they would do and they hooked me up to the IV and I was ready to go, I don't remember much after I got to the or bc they put me to sleep. When I got to post op I was very emotional and drowsey. The doc came in and explained to me and my husband that I had endo and it was attached to my rectum and she had cleaned it up and that I had a few choices to make, she said that the surgery would help for a little while but I needed to think about either getting pregnant or taking the lupro. We decided toget pregnant. After I got pregnant I was pain free for about 2 1/2 years I was then told to make the same choice again so I got pregnant again and I was pain free again for about 2 1/2 yrs and now I have my tubes tide so I have a hard choice as to what to do now. But I will probley have the lap again here soon. It is not that bad the only problem I had was that I got constapted after the surgery but that happens sometime when you take pain meds and you have been put to sleep, I would ask your doc if you can take a stool softener to have just incase. I was out of work for a bout a week and then after that I was back to normal. So it not as bad, and my pain was not that bad I was just real sore for a few days.
