Getting pregnant after punctured uterus during laproscopyFrom: Tara (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun Apr 26 20:58:57 2009
I recently had a laproscopy done due to some cysts on my ovaries and pelvic pain. The surgery indicated that I had pretty bad endometriosis. While my surgeon was removing the cysts (endometriomas)and cauterizing the endometriosis, she punctured my uterus. She strongly recommends that I do not get pregnant for 6 months due to this puncture. My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for over a year with no success. I'm wondering if this has happened to anyone else and if anyone has gotten pregnant with their uterus punctured within 6 months. My doctor wants me to start Lupron. I'm struggling because it seems now would be the best time to try to get pregnant since I just had the surgery but am unsure if my doctor is being extra cautious or if pregnancy after a punctured uterus is really a bad idea. Any input or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
