Re: DR REDWINE?From: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue Jan 27 02:23:41 2009
Hello. I am a previous patient of Dr. Redwine's and while I can't say definitively that my surgery with him was 100% a success, I most certainly do not regret seeing him and would do it again in a heartbeat. As far as how much he has helped me, I was a stage 4 and my surgery was pretty recent, roughly 3 months ago. It is very common to have painful periods for up to about 3 months after a lap and I have found that to be true for me. This does not discourage me though b/c the pain is different, it is not the same pain I experienced before surgery and again, it is normal. However, the pains and annoyances I experienced prior to surgery that I had contributed to the endo and experienced while not on my period are gone. I felt I was treated wonderfully by Dr. Redwine, his staff, and the hospital. I certainly recommend him. One thing to keep in mind though, no dr. can cure endo 100% of the time. Every dr., including the specialists such as Redwine, the CEC, Cook, Robbins, and others will have some patients that do not receive relief. As we all know, endo is complicated. If you have any other questions let me know, I would be happy to email you and whatever info I can give would be recent as again, my surgery was not that long ago. And for others reading this, I did just want to mention, Dr. Redwine does not require 100% of his fee up front, he does have 2 payment options and while it is true that he does require a certain amount up front, his office does bill your insurance, this is common with most specialists as well. The reason most specialists "do not take insurance" so to speak, although they do bill them, is b/c insurance companies control a lot of what a dr. does for their patient, a lot of patient care is determinded not by the dr.'s recommendation but by the insurance company's determination of what they believe the patient needs. Dr. Redwine and other specialists simply won't play that game, they give their patient what they feel they need and while the insurance issue can be frustrating, I do believe patients receive better care when the insurance co has no say in what care a patient gets. Wishing all a good day!
