Re: Lupron or Laparoscopy?? So much pain :(From: heavenlygarcia (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed Dec 31 09:58:40 2008
Hi, when I had my symptoms start they sent me for a check up on my apendix to make sure it was ok since the pain was on the right side. I had pain all the time exactly how you describe yours. After all the tests came back ok they sent me to a ob/gyn and she told me I could take a hormone therapy (Lupron) or do a surgery, well being 22 at the time I imediatly said surgery no hormones. I didn't know what Lupron was at the time but I'm so happy I had made the desicion to do surgery. I didn't really know what endo was when I went to her and had no idea what was going on or what to expect. If I had to do it again and knew what Lupron was going into the dr. I would make the same choice. My surgery didn't give me releif of my pain nor did the second one but that's like 20% of women don't get relief from surgery. So, I would assume that a surgery would be sucessful for you. But, even though I have still been in everyday pain for a year and a half now, I still won't take Lupron, I don't feel that taking the chance to feel worse than I already do is worth it. I can take pain meds now and do everyday things, what if the Lupron made things worse and pain meds didn't help, what would my life be then? Nothing. Just think about what is best for you. I rather deal with the pain I have then take a gamble with Lupron. I'm 23 I have alot of life to live still. We can all tell you what we would or have done, but follow what feels right, I was so confused about what to do for so long but I always felt wrong about using Lupron. I went back and forth about it but deep down I was terrified of the stuff, so I just stuck to what my gut told me and have sworn off any dr. who tries to push it on me. Good Luck
