Re: an uncomfortable subject but input pleaseFrom: Sarah (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed Nov 26 10:05:57 2008
Krisden, My name is Sarah and I have suffered with endo for 15 years. Yes, yes, yes, and yes, to answer your questions. I have diarrhea 1-3 days before my period starts, then I have no bowel movement until the 3rd or 4th day of my period. By then it is constipated, which makes the first bowel movement of my period comparative to labor. The stomach cramps are expected with both of these, along with simply not digesting well throughout the month. I also have stomach cramps that are 10 on the scale, but they are the worst when I'm on my period...which already is 10 on the scale. The nausea is constant, everyday. It is more severe just prior to my period. I know this is a uncomfortable subject, but I wanted to share with you that you are not alone. That even though the doctor may tell you it is not related to your endo (like mine tried to), you’re not crazy. By the way, my doctor had to admit he was wrong when they found endo on my colon. That was 4yrs after I had started to complain about it. I have cut red meat and dairy (both inflammatory) out of my diet 1 week prior to my period and have had some relief. I use rice & beans, and soy milk to supplement my protein through that time. I also increase my water intake. Hope this helps Sarah
