Re: how long do you just 'deal' with the pain before calling the doctor

DO NOT rush into a hysterectomy. There is not a guarantee of relief from pain nor is there a guarantee that the endo will go away and not come back. There is no cure-all for endo. I would hate to see you have a hyst and still have the pain...whether it be from endo or adhesions. The more you get cut open, the more you place yourself at risk of getting more adhesions which, in themselves, hurt since they stick your organs together. Do a LOT of research because a hyst is not a guarantee cure, to say the least. As far as calling the doctor, there really isn't much they can do. Mine always recommended another lap (and low and behold, here I am with pain due to not only endo but adhesions from numerous surgeries - I was not warned of how adhesions are created) or they would switch around my bcp which would typically lead me into a whole new set of symptoms...nausea, dizziness, etc. It's been my experience that the doctors just seem to experiment to see what will work best. For me, nothing has. That's one of the worst parts of this disease. You could always try the ER, but all they will do is give you pain meds...IF they even do that. It's really not fair that there is no way to even get a few seconds of relief. I'm with ya.
