I can sympathize with you. I'm 33 years old and have had constipation
related to endo since I was 18. My endo symptoms flare up the week
before I get my period and that's usually when I have problems with
constipation. Stool softeners can help, they will not cause diarrhea
and they will not make you go. They only soften your stool. I usually
use Senokot, which is a mild laxative- does not give me any cramping,
usually doctors will prescribe this along with a stool softener for
constipation. If you want to go more of a natural route, increase your
water and fiber intake. Also prune juice does work-if you can tolerate
drinking a warm glass of it at night before you go to bed it will
usually produce results by the morning. Good luck!
