This is the kind of harassment I'm talking about.

So my boss just had a meeting with our entire department. She was letting us know that because tomorrow is Friday, Halloween AND end-of-month for us (we do accounting), she said that we will all be able to leave at 4:00 tomorrow. We used to be able to leave at 4 on the last day of the month up until a couple of months ago when they let someone go and after that, we couldn't leave early because we had work to do right up till 5:00. Well now it seems like we're going to be able to leave early tomrorrow. Oh, everyone except me. Because in the MIDDLE of the meeting in front of the whole DEPARTMENT, my boss goes "Oh and we need someone to cover phones till 5, so since Kathy doesn't have little ones, she can stay till 5". WTF can I say? I don't mind staying late, and I do need the money, but WTF is up with the whole logic behind it? I'm sorry, but with her knowing my health issues and the very real possibility of a childless future, this really p!ssed me off. And then she proceeded to say it again later in the meeting! She was like "Okay, and Kathy, since you don't have kids, you stay till 5". WTF? It's one thing to be discriminated against for not having children (which absolutely drives me up the wall in the first place), but KNOWING my health issues...I just felt like I got slapped in the face. It actually bothered me enough that I immediately felt like I was going to cry, but we were in a meeting with the whole department...what could I do? I'm so upset right now :-(
